Provincial officials, PhilFiDA XI map out Abaca Pilot Demo implementation in Davao Oriental
DAVAO ORIENTAL — Provincial agricultural leaders and officials from the Philippine Fiber Industry Development Authority Regional Office XI (PhilFiDA XI) convened a series of coordination meetings on September 22–23, 2026, to rollout the Provincial Abaca Pilot Demo Implementation across key abaca-producing barangays in the province.
The delegation was led by Provincial Agriculturist Enya C. Amahit, Crops Division Head Mario M. Obatonon, and PhilFiDA XI OIC Regional Director Joel T. Alcoser. They were joined by Technical Assistant Unit Head Zenarosa Andresio, Regulatory Head Gilbert Arobo, and Provincial Fiber Officer Merque T. Tasong.
The team first met with local stakeholders in Barangay P.M. Sobrecarey, Caraga, on September 22, followed by a consultation with local abaca farmers in Barangay Taocanga, Manay, on September 23 to detail site plans, production guidelines, and technical support under the pilot program.
